1987 - The company demutualized and became a publicly traded company.
1998 - The company changed its name to E-L Financial Corporation Limited.
2003 - The company acquired The Canadian Millers' Mutual Insurance Company.
2011 - The company acquired The Canadian Pioneer Insurance Company.
2015 - The company acquired The Empire Life Insurance Company.
