2. Qorvo's Q3 Earnings: A Mixed Bag

Qorvo reported revenue of $993 million, non-GAAP gross margin of 49.1%, and non-GAAP diluted earnings of $2.17 per share, beating analyst estimates of $1.87. The revenue figure was in line with the company's guidance, while the earnings per share (EPS) was a pleasant surprise, driven by better-than-expected gross margin. The company's largest customer accounted for approximately 53% of revenue, highlighting the concentration risk. Publication Date: Feb -10

📋 Highlights
  • Q3 Revenue Performance:: Reported $993M revenue, with non-GAAP gross margin of 49.1% and diluted EPS of $2.17, exceeding guidance.
  • Customer Concentration:: Largest customer accounted for 53% of revenue, with content gains driving double-digit growth year-over-year despite seasonal declines.
  • Android Exit Strategy:: Accelerated exit from lower-margin Android business to $300M by 2027, impacting Q4 revenue and contributing to margin improvements.
  • Q4 Guidance:: Revenue projected at $800M ±$25M, with non-GAAP gross margin of 48-49% and diluted EPS of $1.20 ±15¢, driven by HPA growth and Android exit.
  • Restructuring Actions:: Closed Costa Rica facility ahead of schedule, transitioning to external partners to reduce capital intensity and optimize profitability.

Segment Performance

In the Advanced Cellular Group (ACG), revenue declined sequentially due to typical seasonality, but the company's content gains on its largest customer's ramping platform supported double-digit revenue growth compared to the previous year's quarter. However, the company expects revenue from its largest customer to be approximately flat in fiscal year 2027. The Connectivity and Sensors Group (CSG) continued to enjoy broad representation in Wi-Fi applications and is expanding its reach in automotive, enterprise, industrial, and other customer segments with its ultra-wideband technology.

Guidance and Outlook

For the fourth quarter, Qorvo expects revenue of $800 million, plus or minus $25 million, non-GAAP gross margin between 48-49%, and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.20, plus or minus 15¢. The guidance reflects continued momentum in the High-Performance Analog (HPA) segment, offset by the strategic pivot from lower-margin mass-tier Android and the normal seasonal decline at its largest customer. Analysts estimate revenue growth of -5.5% for the next year, indicating a challenging environment.

Valuation

With a P/E Ratio of 22.66, P/B Ratio of 2.09, and EV/EBITDA of 10.82, Qorvo's valuation multiples suggest that the market is pricing in a moderate growth outlook. The company's return on invested capital (ROIC) of 6.46% and return on equity (ROE) of 9.71% indicate a relatively healthy profitability profile. The free cash flow yield of 7.72% is also attractive, suggesting that the company's shares may be undervalued.
