1938 - Dillard's, Inc. was founded by William T. Dillard in Nashville, Arkansas.
1956 - Dillard's opened its first store in Texarkana, Texas.
1960 - Dillard's went public with an initial public offering (IPO).
1963 - Dillard's expanded to Oklahoma with the acquisition of 12 stores.
1964 - Dillard's entered the Kansas City market with the acquisition of 5 stores.
1969 - Dillard's expanded to Louisiana with the acquisition of 11 stores.
1974 - Dillard's entered the Memphis market with the acquisition of 5 stores.
1982 - Dillard's expanded to Florida with the acquisition of 12 stores.
1988 - Dillard's acquired 26 stores from Joske's in Texas.
1990 - Dillard's expanded to Georgia with the acquisition of 12 stores.
1992 - Dillard's acquired 15 stores from Mervyn's in California.
1997 - Dillard's acquired 15 stores from Mercantile Stores in the Midwest.
2004 - Dillard's acquired 18 stores from Belk in the Southeast.
2014 - Dillard's acquired 5 stores from The Bon-Ton Stores in the Midwest.
